How to Choose a QR Menu in Turkey: Comparing Karekod Menü Systems in 2026

Comparing QR menu (karekod menü) systems in Turkey? Check five things: languages for tourists, the Price Tag Regulation, allergens, design and the yearly price in TL.

In Turkey a QR menu is called a karekod menü, and there are dozens of providers. Instead of one more "we are the best" claim, this guide gives you the five checks that separate them, the rules a karekod menü has to respect, and what each option costs in lira, with sources. Then it shows how doXmenu answers each check, so you can hold any other system to the same list.

The five checks for a karekod menü in Turkey

  1. Languages for your guests (çok dilli QR menü). In Istanbul, Antalya or Bodrum one table may need Turkish, English, Russian, German and Arabic. Count how many languages one QR code serves, whether the system translates them, and whether you can correct a translation by hand.
  2. The price list rules. A karekod on the table is allowed, but it does not replace the list at the entrance or the printed copy a guest can ask for (details below).
  3. Allergens. The Turkish Food Codex asks catering businesses to declare allergens on the menu or a notice. Check that every dish can carry its allergens and that guests read them in their own language.
  4. Design. Does the menu look like your venue, with your logo, colours and fonts, or like the provider's template?
  5. The yearly price with everything included. Compare the full year, not the headline month, and ask what costs extra: languages, tables, ordering, design.

What the rules say about a karekod menü

  • Restaurants, cafés and patisseries must show price lists at the entrance and on the tables (Price Tag Regulation amendment, Resmî Gazete of 19 December 2023, in force since 1 January 2024).
  • The list on the table may be shown by QR code, but a printed list must be given to any guest who asks for one (amendment published on 11 October 2025; Ministry of Trade announcement).
  • No compulsory service, table or cover charge may be asked, and menus show only the prices of the products (Ministry of Trade, 30 January 2026).

In practice: a karekod menü on every table, the price list at the door, and a few printed copies behind the counter.

Is doXmenu used in Turkey?

Not yet by a venue in Turkey, and we will not pretend otherwise. Turkish is already a working menu language: Andromeda Restaurant and Hydra Spa in Budva, Montenegro, show their menus in Turkish next to English and Russian. 2,000+ venues have used doXmenu since 2020 (doXmenu data). The shop that makes table stands does not deliver to Turkey, so you download the QR code and print it locally.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best QR menu in Turkey?

No single karekod menü is best for every venue, so compare languages, the price list rules, allergens, design and the yearly price. doXmenu has 24 menu languages, the 14 allergens by name, 16 font styles and 70 palettes, and costs 12.99€ a month on the yearly plan (about 723 TL), first month free.

Which QR menu works best for tourists in Turkey?

A multilingual one (çok dilli QR menü) that serves Turkish, English, Russian, German and Arabic from the same QR code and lets the guest switch in one tap. doXmenu does this among 24 menu languages, with automatic translation you can correct by hand.

Is a karekod menü enough on its own?

No. The list on the table may be a QR code, but a price list must hang at the entrance and a printed list must be given to any guest who asks (Price Tag Regulation, Resmî Gazete of 19 December 2023, and the amendment of 11 October 2025).

How much does a QR menu cost in Turkey?

Basic packages cost about 1,500 to 5,000 TL a year (MENUME BAK, 22 July 2026). doXmenu is 155.88€ a year with every feature included, about 8,681 TL at the TCMB rate of 25 September 2026, or 14.99€ month to month.
